George D. Poisal, 78, died Thursday at Western Maryland Center in Hagerstown. He was the husband of Beverly Reyeur Poisal. A World War IIveteran, he was honored for military service in Germany and France. A graduate of the Maryland Institute of Art, he was a member of the American Marketing Association. He was a past president of the Lochearn Kiwanis. He also operated several food stalls in Lexington Market. He most recently was employed as the marketing director for E. L. Greenbert Associates at Carrolltowne Mall. In addition to his wife, survivors include sons, Richard D. Banta of North Carolina and Steven G. Poisal of here, and one grandchild.
Marjorie B. Smith, 67, died Monday. Before her retirement, she had worked as a leasing consultant. She also was a student of Carroll Community College. Survivors include a son, Robert L. Smith Jr. of Owings Mills; daughter, Barbara Gardner of Sykesville; and four grandchildren.

Drucilla Mae Hood, 86, died Wednesday at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Walter R. Hood. A charter member ofthe Ladies Auxiliary of the Volunteer Fire Department, she also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post here. Survivors include a son, Walter K. Hood Sr. of here; two grandsons and two great-grandsons.
William L. Newcomer, 55, died Dec. 1 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. A Frederick County resident, he was the husband of Danielle Gau Newcomer. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Frederick and its gospel choir. A retired state police officer, he had been a detective sergeant with the Frederick barracks. He also was a member of the Maryland Troopers Alumni Association and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge. He had served in the U.S. ArmySignal Corps. In addition to his wife, survivors include children, Diana L. Newcomer of Florida, Dominique N. Phelps, Bert E. Newcomer, Douglas A. Newcomer and Daniel R. Newcomer, all of Mount Airy, and David W. Newcomer of Frederick; brothers, Robert E. Newcomer of Sykesville, Jack I. Newcomer of College Park and Donald A. Newcomer of Marriottsville; 14 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Dr. Jose L. Chapulle, 68, died Wednesday at the Baltimore County General Hospital. He was the husband of Maria E. Chapulle and a graduate of Zaragosa University School of Medicine in Spain. Hehad practiced medicine at Springfield Hospital Center since 1977.
Edward F. Peddicord, 47, a former resident here, died Nov. 28 at hishome in Williamsburg, Va. He was the son of John J. Peddicord Sr. ofPasadena and the late Mary Beavin Peddicord. His stepmother, Evelyn L. Peddicord, also survives. He was a credit manager for General Electric Co. In addition to his father, survivors include sisters, Mary Sue Meyers, Marie Wilson, Helen R. Peddicord and Kitty Peddicord, all of here; a brother, John J. Peddicord Jr. of Cordova; stepbrothers, Donald Martin of Linthicum and Charles Martin of Pasadena; and a dear friend, Ellen Matanley of Williamsburg.
Margaret L. Mellor, 82, died Tuesday at Carroll County General Hospital. A homemaker, she was the wife of the late Albert J. Mellor. She was the mother of the late Naomi L. Mellor. Three grandchildren survive, including Sharon Nelsonof Westminster, Garry Mellor of here and Ronald Mellor. Four great-grandchildren also survive.

Mabel Catherine Smith, 84, died Nov. 30 at the Westminster Nursing and Convalescent Center. She was the wife of the late Albert P. Smith. Retired from H. Bornestein and Co., she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion and the Volunteer Fire Co. Survivors include a brother, Raymond W. Baker, and a sister, Mary P. Paul L. Study, 88, a retired self-employed auto mechanic, died early Friday morning at his home. Anative of Carroll, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge here. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Little's Funeral Home in Littlestown, Pa. A Masonic service will be at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeralhome. Services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the funeral home, withburial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Silver Run.
William H. Proudfoot, 64, died Thursday at Carroll County General Hospital. He was the husband of Gloria Rose Muller Proudfoot. He had worked for the B&O; Railroad in the accounting department and was a member of the Pipe Creek Church of the Brethren. In addition to his wife, survivors include a brother, James M. Proudfoot of Delaware, and several nieces and nephews.
Harry H. Gnaedinger, 80, died Tuesday at Carroll County General Hospital. He was the husband of Lillian W. Gnaedinger. A graduate of the Western Maryland Theological Seminary, he was retired from Western Maryland Railroad. He also wrote for the Railroad Evangelical Association. In addition to his wife, survivors include a sister-in-law,Agnes W. Myers, and stepsisters, Marian Perst of New Jersey and Esther McMane of Arizona. Catherine D. Mahoney, who had ownedVanity Box Beauty Salon on Colonial Avenue, died Nov. 29 at Carroll County General Hospital. Twice widowed, she was the wife of Harry Danner and John Mahoney. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Door to Virtue Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include a stepson and a step-grandson.
