George D. Poisal, retired marketing director for E.L. Greenberg Associates, died yesterday of heart and kidney failure at the Western Maryland Center in Hagerstown.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Haight funeral establishment in Eldersburg.
Mr. Poisal was 78 and lived in Eldersburg. He retired in 1989 after handling advertising and public relations for shopping centers owned by the Greenberg firm since 1977.
From 1968 until the mid-1970s, he operated the Konrad Thiebes gourmet food stall at the Lexington Market, after working briefly as public relations director for the market.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, the former Beverly Reyeur; two sons, Richard Dorac Banta of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Steven George Poisal of Eldersburg; and a grandson.
