HUNTING HOURS
30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset, Monday through Saturday.
LICENSES/STAMPS
Consolidated hunting license or basic hunting license and deer stamp/stamps for firearms season. Antlerless deer permit may
be required.
NEW REGULATIONS
The second deer taken in Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's counties may be antlered or antlerless. The second deer stamp for firearms season will not be valid in Dorchester County.
LEGAL WEAPONS
Shotguns 20-gauge or larger, which use a pumpkin ball or rifled slug; rifles that generate muzzle energy of at least 1,200-foot pounds.
SPECIAL REGULATIONS
During firearms season, the deer taken with a second deer stamp must be an antlered deer in Allegany, Caroline, Carroll, Cecil, Frederick, Garrett, Kent, Queen Anne's, Talbot and Washington counties. However, the second deer may be antlerless in Allegany, Carroll, Frederick, Garrett and Washington counties if the person possesses an antlerless deer permit and his first deer was antlered and taken in firearms season. In Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert, Charles, Harford, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George's, Somerset, St. Mary's, Wicomico
and Worcester counties, the second deer may be antlered or antlerless. In Garrett, Allegany, Washington and Frederick counties, which have deer management zones, hunters may use the antlerless permit only in designated zones.
All deer harvested must be taken to a designated check-in station by the hunter in the county where the kill was made before the deer may be taken from the county. A field tag must be filled out before the deer is taken from the site of the kill, and check-in must be within 24 hours. The carcass may be field-dressed but not dismembered before check-in. Dogs cannot be used to hunt deer. Deer may not be hunted while
swimming or taking refuge in water.
