Ex-North County High soccer player Angela Farace scored the winning goal in Catonsville Community College's stunning 1-0 upset over Champlain, Ver., yesterday in the National Junior College Athletic Association Tournament in Mercer, N.J.

Coached by North County faculty member and head girls lacrosse coach Tom Taylor, the Cardinals were a decided underdog against tournament favorite Champlain, who came into the game at 20-1.

Taylor's crew, which includes a host of players from Anne ArundelCounty, meets host Mercer Community College at 11 a.m. today.
