Boston Bruins left wing Andy Brickley will undergo surgery on Monday to repair a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder and is expected to miss the rest of the season.

Brickley, who had eight goals and 13 assists for 21 points in 12 games this season, suffered the injury Saturday against the Hartford Whalers. Tests performed yesterday revealed the tear in the rotator cuff, general manager Harry Sinden said.

* DEVILS: John MacLean, who has scored more than 40 goals in each of the past three seasons, will undergo reconstructive surgery on his right knee this weekend.

MacLean will have the anterior cruciate ligament in the knee reconstructed Saturday morning, spokesman Dave Freed said. MacLean is likely to miss the rest of the season.

* Manon Rheaume became the first female to dress for a Canadian major junior hockey team in a regular-season game when she acted as backup to goalie Jocelyn Thibault for the Trois-Rivieres (Quebec) Draveurs.

Rheaume, 19, was called up from the Tier-II Louiseville team when the No. 1 goaltender, Jean-Francois Labbe, injured his collarbone in practice Sunday.

In Tier-II play, Rheaume has a 5.71 goals-against average in three games while playing for a last-place club.
