Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Hank Stackpole III, deputy chief of staff for plans, policies and operations, is the guest speaker at the 23rd annual Massing of the Colors at 2:30 this afternoon in the Naval Academy chapel.
About 80 color guards, representing units and organizations from schoolchildren to active-duty professionals will march into the chapel accompanied by the Navy band. The ceremony is sponsored by Vice Admiral George C. Dyer of the Annapolis chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars.
MIDS TO HELP FEED HUNGRY
Interested countians can donate baskets of holiday food at the 7 p.m. Thanksgiving service Nov. 24 in the Naval Academy's Main Chapel.
The theme is "Giving From the Heart of the Brigade," coordinated by Mary Torrese, a member of the chaplain staff. Midshipmen will givethe baskets to local charities during the service, which will be ledby Chaplain Albert I Slomovitz.

Army Sgt. Jerry A. Hollo, son of William Hollo of Naugatuck, Conn., and Patricia Hollo of Fairfield, Conn., has been named Soldier of the Year. His wife, Tamara, is the daughter of Donald W. and Mary E. Dakis of Severn.
A 1985 graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School in Fairfield, he is a military police team leader at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

Air Force Staff Sgt. Kevin B. Hamilton, son of Thelma M. Hyle of Pasadena, has arrived for duty at Kadena Air Base, Japan.
Hamilton, a strategic aircraft maintenance technician, is a 1990 graduate of the University of Southern Maine in Portland.
