California Angels -- Announced that they would not pick up the 1992 options on OF Dave Winfield (.262, 28 HRs, 86 RBI) and P Bert Blyleven (spent 1991 on DL).

Kansas City Royals -- Claimed P Rusty Meacham from the Detroit Tigers.

Los Angeles Dodgers -- Exercised its option on P Bob Ojeda (12-9, 3.18 ERA) for the 1992 season. Announced they would not re-sign 2B Juan Samuel (.271), SS Alfredo Griffin (.243) and C Gary Carter (.246).

Montreal Expos -- Sent C Jerry Goff and P Chris Johnson outright to Class AAA Indianapolis.


Golden State Warriors -- Waived G Clifford Scales.

Houston Rockets -- Reached agreement in principle with G Kenny Smith on a 5-year contract worth about $1.9 million annually.

Miami Heat -- Waived G Byron Irvin.

Orlando Magic -- Waived G Ricky Calloway and F Jervis Cole.


International Cricket Council -- Voted to allow South Africa to participate in the 1992 World Cup for the first time since 1970.
