Hopkins wins, 23-6, behind Guglielmo

MADISON, N.J. -- John Guglielmo (2-0-1) passed for two touchdowns, Paul Ferreri ran for another, and Johns Hopkins used second-half ball control to defeat Fairleigh Dickinson-Madison (1-1), 23-6, in non-conference football last night.

Hopkins scored a second-quarter touchdown and a third-quarter field goal for a 9-0 lead entering the fourth quarter, then capitalized on a Jersey Devils turnover to put the game away. Hopkins recovered a FDU fumble on the home team's seven-yard line, and on fourth down, Guglielmo, a 6-foot junior, threw to Lou Angelos for a 15-yard touchdown pass.

Guglielmo has passed for 765 yards and seven touchdowns, with three interceptions, in the three games, and Ferreri's touchdown, a 17-yard run, was his fifth of the season.
