Man arrested in strangulation


Police have arrested an East Baltimore man in the strangulation of his neighbor, whose barefoot body was found Sept. 15 in an alley near their homes.

Dennis Melvin Green, 23, of the 2700 block of E. Monument St., was charged with first-degree murder and robbery yesterday.

City police said they believed he strangled Eleanor Brown, 27, of the2600 block of Aisquith St. at his home, then dumped her body in the alley nearby.

Green and Brown lived seven doors from each other. Today, police had no motive for the murder other than robbery.

This morning Green was at the Southeastern Police District awaiting a bail review hearing.
