SHOOTING: Western District -- Police reported that Vanita Maddox, of the 1000 block of Ellicott Drive, was in the 1100 block of Braddish Ave. Wednesday night when she was shot in the left foot. Police said Maddox was treated at the scene by an ambulance crew. No arrests have been made.
ASSAULT: Western District -- Tammy Boyce, of the 2600 block of Lauretta Ave., told police that in the 2100 block of Vine St. early yesterday a man she knows cut her with a piece of window glass after pushing her up against the wall of a building. Police said Boyce was not seriously injured and a 41-year-old man was being sought.
ROBBERY: Western District -- Police reported that Daniel Brickette, of the 2100 block of Clifton Ave., was in the 2200 block of Reisterstown Road early yesterday when he was accosted by a man he knows who demanded his money while threatening him with a knife. Police said the armed man escaped with $15. Police said Brickette was expected to swear out a warrant for the man's arrest.
THEFT: Western District -- Police reported that someone entered a dwelling in the 1400 block of W. Fayette St. that is being renovated and stole three garbage disposers and a sink filter. Police said the equipment was valued at more than $500.
BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 200 block of N. Carey St. reported that someone forced their way into her home through a rear door and stole a VCR, a car vacuum cleaner, an answering machine and a telephone. Police said the property was valued at more than $500.
BURGLARY: Western District -- Police said property valued at nearly $260 was stolen from a home in the 2400 block of Edmondson Ave. after someone gained entry by forcing a rear door. Police said the intruder made off with a 13-inch TV set.
BURGLARY/ARREST: Western District -- Police arrested a man and charged him with breaking into a nursing home and stealing a bicycle and a set of keys. Police said entry was gained into the Carey House in the 1400 block of N. Carey St. through the front door. Later, police arrested Dion Rice, 19, of the 1400 block of Division St., and charged him with burglary. Police said Rice was being held at the district station on $2,500 bail.
BURGLARY: Western District -- Members of the Holy Trinity Church in the 2300 block of W. Lafayette Ave. reported that someone broke into their building through a rear window and stole a VCR, seven boxes of candy and a red wagon with which to carry the property away.
BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 1300 block of N. Carey St. reported that property valued at more than $200 was stolen from her home. Police said a VCR, radio and a telephone were taken and that entry was gained by forcing the front door.
BURGLARY: Western District -- Police said someone broke into a house in the 500 block of N. Gilmor St. by forcing a rear door and stole property whose value has not been determined. Police said the burglar made off with a jacket, gold chain, a table, cassette tapes, a TV set, clothing and a cassette player.
ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- Sean Robinson, 23, of the 3300 block of Elmora Ave., reported that at his home Wednesday morning he was stabbed several times by a man he knows. Police said Robinson was taken to Church Hospital, where he was treated and released. Later, police arrested a suspect in the case and were holding him at the Eastern District pending formal charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Martha Davis, of the 1800 block of E. 31st St., reported that someone stole her automatic teller card and removed nearly $400 from her account.
RAPE: Northeastern District -- A 13-year-old girl told police she was walking in the 4200 block of Harford Road near Herring Run Park Wednesday afternoon when she was accosted by a man who pulled her into a wooded area and raped her. After the attack, the man let the girl go and walked away. Police said the girl returned home and told her parents. The girl was treated at Mercy Medical Center and released.
ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Christine Henson, of the 3300 block of Ravenwood Road, reported she was in the 2000 block of Belair Road Wednesday evening when she was stopped by three youths who asked her for a light. Police said while Henson was looking into her purse, one of the youths grabbed her purse. Police said all three youths fled and that the purse contained cash and property, all valued at more than $300.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 4300 block of Loch Raven Blvd. reported that someone broke into her home and stole stereo equipment, a watch, jewelry, a check book and a purse. Police said the property was valued at $800 and that entry was gained through a front window.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Police said a Denver boot that was attached to a 1991 Pontiac in the 5000 block of Hillen Road was unlawfully removed. Police said the boot, a device attached to a vehicle's wheel to prevent it from being moved, was placed on the car because its driver had several unpaid parking tickets. Police said the boot was valued at nearly $350 and that removing the device also carries a heavy penalty.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 2500 block of Garrett Ave. reported that someone entered her home through an unlocked window and stole cash and several pieces of jewelry. Police said the property was valued at more than $3,600 and that the break-in occurred between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. yesterday.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police said property valued at more than $300 was stolen from a dwelling in the 1600 block of E. Cold Spring Lane after someone entered through an open bedroom window between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Wednesday.
ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police reported four men, one armed with a handgun, robbed a music store in the 5100 block of Sinclair Lane last night. Police said four men entered the Sound of Baltimore at 5114 Sinclair Lane shortly before 7:30 p.m. and accosted the employee there. Police said the gunman handcuffed the employee and pushed him to the floor while his accomplices stole money and jewelry. Police said the four men ** fled with cash and property, all of unknown value. Police said the victim was freed by police responding to a report of a robbery.
ABDUCTION/RAPE: Northern District -- A 16-year-old girl reported to police she was in the 900 block of Argonne Drive Wednesday afternoon when she was accosted by a man who forced her into his car. The girl told police the man stopped the car at an unknown location and raped her before taking her to his home. The girl said that after entering the house, the man sexually assaulted her again before driving her toward her home and letting her go. Police said the girl was treated at Mercy Medical Center and released. Police said the girl was unable to say where the man's home was located.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police said property valued at nearly $400 was stolen from a dwelling in the 3700 block of Keswick Road after someone gained entry through a kitchen window. Police said the burglar escaped with $250, a gold
necklace and a pearl necklace and credit cards.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Employees of Maryland Biological Services in the 3000 block of Greenmount Ave. reported that someone broke into their building between Wednesday night and yesterday morning and stole more than $100. Police said entry was gained by removing a vent near a side window.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 3700 block of Greenway reported that someone broke into his home Wednesday night through a basement window and stole a VCR, stereo equipment and a copying machine. Police said the property was valued at nearly $800.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police reported that $40 in food stamps, $30 in cash, and cigarettes were stolen from a dwelling in the 1400 block of Union Ave. after someone gained entry through a rear window.
ARSON: White Marsh District -- Police reported that someone set fire to the rear deck of a home in the 4400 block of Wynn Road early yesterday. The occupant, James A. Grieb, reported the fire at 2:45 a.m. but was unable to give police any information as to why someone would want to set his house on fire. Twenty-five firefighters manning equipment from stations at Perry Hall, Fullerton, Cowenton, Parkville and Providence brought the fire under control in less than 30 minutes. No injuries were reported. Police said the fire remains under investigation.
BURGLARY: Wilkens District -- Police said someone broke into two apartments on McDowell Lane Wednesday night or yesterday morning and stole property valued at more than $1,000. Police said someone entered a dwelling in the 3700 block of McDowell Lane between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. yesterday while the occupant was asleep and stole a VCR and a TV set. Someone entered an apartment in the 4100 block of McDowell Lane and stole a TV, VCR and TV remote control device. Police said entry into both dwellings was gained by someone removing a window screen and climbing through the window.

ROBBERY: Brooklyn Park -- Police said a 9-year-old Brooklyn Park boy was riding his bicycle outside the Brooklyn Park Plaza when he was stopped by an older youth who demanded he give him money. Police said when the younger boy said he didn't have any money, the older youth pushed him off the bike and rode away toward Ritchie Highway.
ROBBERY: Crofton -- Police reported that a 33-year-old Bowie woman, whose name was not disclosed, was using an outside telephone at the intersection of Route 3 and Davidsonville Road Wednesday when she was accosted by two men who pushed her to the ground and threatened to kill her if she didn't give them her keys. The woman did, and the men drove off in her car. Police said the woman was not injured.
BURGLARY: Ferndale -- A resident of the 7100 block of Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd. reported that someone forced their way into his home through a door and stole two TV sets. Police said the property was valued at more than $800.
BURGLARY: Glen Burnie -- Police said property valued at nearly $1,800 was stolen from a dwelling in the 7800 block of Tall Pines Court after gaining entry through a window.
BURGLARY: Glen Burnie -- Police reported that someone forced a door of a dwelling in the 400 block of Crain Highway and stole a TV and several pieces of stereo equipment. Police said the property was valued at more than $1,000.
THEFT: Westminster -- Mark Southard, of the 4900 block of Pleasant Grove Road in Reisterstown, reported that while his 1989 Ford pickup truck was parked outside the 4 Seasons health VTC club in the 2700 block of Hampstead-Mexico Road someone removed the vehicle's tailgate. Southard told police the tailgate was valued at $200.
VANDALISM: Sykesville -- Linda Hager, of the 100 block of Henry Ave., told police she was sleeping when the sound of breaking glass woke her around 1 a.m. Wednesday. Investigating the noise, Hager discovered that someone broke the double-pane front window with a rock. Police said Hager could give no reason for the destruction and said the window was valued at $100.
