McCallister leads rain-delayed BC
ENDICOTT, N.Y. -- Blaine McCallister, unfazed by a chilling drizzle, shot a 7-under 64 for a one-stroke lead in the rain-delayed first round of the BC Open yesterday.

McCallister made seven birdies at the par-71 En-Joie Golf Club, but endured a 3 1/2 -hour delay that prevented nearly half the field from completing the round.
The 75 players will finish today before the second round of the 72-hole tournament.

LPGA Safeco Classic
SEATTLE -- Brandie Burton, the youngest player on the LPGA Tour, shot a 7-under 65, the lowest round of her career, to take a three-shot lead after one round.
Rosie Jones, Mitzi Edge, Laurel Kean and Nancy White are second.
