Fans get to wear a star's jersey on Memorial Stadium photo day

Sept. 28 should be a picture-perfect day for Baltimore Orioles fans at Memorial Stadium.

One thousand fans will be permitted to come on to the field and have a Polaroid picture taken wearing an authentic jersey at the position matching the player's jersey they select.

For instance, fans can be Frank Robinson at home plate, Brooks Robinson at third, Jim Palmer on the pitcher's mound, Earl Weaver (preferably not cupping a cigarette) in the Orioles dugout, or Cal Ripken at shortstop.

Fans, who can enter Gate W-1 on a first-come, first-served basis at 10 a.m. on the 28th, are limited to one position and one photo for $20, with proceeds going to the Orioles' Children's Charities and the WBAL Radio Kids Campaign.

For more information, call the Orioles' Community Relations department at 547-6140.
