CARROLL CHRISTIAN PATS

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Coach: Anna Bible, second year

Last year's record: 9-8, Maryland Association of Christian Schools state champion

Top returnees: Seniors, Angie Anderson, Cinda Grove; juniors, Kristine Mann, Kellie Sullivan, Michelle Staner.

Top newcomers: Freshman, Cheryl Beard; eighth-grader, Rachel Holdefer.

Coach's comments: "We look pretty promising. It's a close-knit team. They have the endurance to fight back."

The Carroll County Sun's outlook: Coach Bible guided the Patriots to a state title in her first year. So how can she top that? It might be tough. The Patriots had an average regular season a year ago but came up big in the state tournament. This year, they will have to get off to a quick start because teams will be gunning for them. The girls know they have a title to defend and theyare eager to do so. The Patriots have five returnees with plenty of height and solid serving. Throw in some promising newcomers and Carroll Christian Academy should once again be in contention for the statecrown this year.
