Coach's comments: "We're very young. We're going to make some mistakes. We hope to be competitivethroughout the season."

The Carroll County Sun's outlook: This isa very young team that doesn't have much depth. Still, there is experience on offense, especially with Murphey and Wales, who give the Eagles some scoring punch. If the defense comes together, Francis ScottKey could surprise some teams. As the smallest school in the county,Key probably won't be in contention for the Carroll title. Middletown still will be the class of the Monocacy Valley Athletic League and Catoctin has done well in recent years. South Hagerstown, meanwhile, has added the sport this year, giving the loop some Washington Countyflavor in girls soccer. Still, if the Eagles win just three or four games, that should be enough to earn a spot in the regional playoffs. And if the junior dominated team does well this year, that bodes well for Key next year.
