Ocean City plans to trap stray cats

In an effort to control the stray cat population in Ocean City, the animals will be trapped, and officials from the town and the Humane Society will discuss what measures to take.

This week, Ocean City resident Irv Kurzbard told the Ocean City Council that many stray cats live around town and that they kill rodents, birds, rabbits and frogs. He said he's afraid they'll overhunt, causing an imbalance in nature, or that a rabid cat will bite an unsuspecting child. Mr. Kurzbard said he's an animal lover and doesn't want the cats put to sleep.
