Blast bolsters roster, signs Koziol, Eise

Former Loyola College standout Joe Koziol, who played the past two seasons for the Cleveland Crunch, will return to Baltimore this season.

Koziol, a midfielder, and defender David Eise, a three-year MSL veteran, signed one-year contracts for the 1991-92 season with hTC the Baltimore Blast yesterday.

Koziol graduated from Loyola College in 1989 and was drafted by the Crunch, which entered the MSL as an expansion team that season. Koziol has been used sparingly by Cleveland, scoring 10 goals and getting five assists in 50 games over two seasons.

"I'm thrilled to be back in Baltimore," said Koziol, the younger brother of former Blast player Stan Koziol. "I've called Baltimore my home the past two years since finishing college there. I plan to give 110 percent to help the Blast be successful."

Eise had an opportunity to play for Baltimore two seasons ago when he was picked up by the Blast in a dispersal draft of players from the Los Angeles Lazers, which folded in the summer of 1989. But Eise opted to play for the St. Louis Storm in

his home town the past two seasons.
