Flair, who was fired from World Championship Wrestling in July after refusing to take a pay cut, was mentioned as a world champion on this weekend's World Wrestling Federation telecast. Flair probably will enter the WWF after Sept. 1, when a no-compete clause in his old WCW contract expires.
The early speculation has Bobby Heenan managing the "Nature Boy," claiming Flair is the real world champion. That would mark the first time since 1984 that the WWF has acknowledged the title reign of a wrestler from another promotion.
In other WWF-related news, bodybuilder/actor Lou Ferrigno has signed with Vince McMahon's World Bodybuilding Federation for reported $700,000 annual salary.
