Banking:Walter R. Fatzinger has been named president...



Walter R. Fatzinger has been named president of American Security Bank of Washington, a subsidiary of MNC Financial Inc., Maryland's largest bank holding company.

Fatzinger will continue in his current posts as president and chief trust officer of Security Trust Co., MNC's trust division.

He replaces H. Grant Hathaway, who since February had been president and chief executive of both American Security and Maryland National Bank, MNC's other banking subsidiary. Frank P. Bramble, MNC's new president and chief executive officer, took over as Maryland National's president and chief executive officer in mid-July. Hathaway will continue as a vice chairman of MNC and will have oversight of South Charles Realty Corp., the subsidiary that is responsible for selling $1.8 billion in troubled loans.

Kimberly McCulloch has been promoted to plan administrator at Turner Pension Consultants Inc., an Annapolis-based consulting firm that specializes in the design and administration of retirement plans. She will be responsible for the annual administration of pension, profit-sharing and 401(k) plans.

Williams & Wilkins, the Baltimore-based medical publisher, has promoted Joseph Frank to junior account executive in the Special and Corporate Sales Department. He will be involved in bulk sales of products published by Williams & Wilkins to pharmaceutical, equipment manufacturing and catalog companies. The products include books, journals, electronic media and manuals.

Alex. Brown & Sons Inc. has hired Neal C. Bradsher as a health-care industry analyst. He will cover the stocks of health-care service companies. He joined the investment banking firm from Hambrecht & Quist, where he followed both health care services and medical products companies.

* Louis Savader has been named president of Savader & Associates, a financial and insurance consulting firm. He has over 20 years of experience in financial services, including stocks, bonds and commercial real estate. Previously he was vice president of corporate bond trading for A.G. Becker & Co., and more recently senior leasing representative at Staller Associates in the New York area.


Gary E. Fillmore has joined the Finance Department at ARMCO's Baltimore Specialty Steels Corp. As credit representative, he will be responsible for the credit and collection activities in the central and western regions of the country. He comes to the corporation from Vulcan Hart Corp., where he was a credit manager.

Real estate:

Pauline Ciampaglio has been appointed sales manager for the Village of Grey Rock. Her responsibilities include office management and sales of the two-story villas and the flats now under construction on a 52-acre parcel in Baltimore County. For the past five years, she was sales manager for Loveton Farms, where she handled on-site sales for the town homes at Meadow Run and for the Rainflower and Quail Creek garden condominiums.


Five Washington attorneys from the law office of Sachs & Tayler have joined the Baltimore-based law firm of Whiteford, Taylor and Preston.

The practice will be based in Whiteford's Washington office and will be led by William Tayler, who was named a partner. The five attorneys specialize in representing community associations and accrediting agencies.

In addition to Tayler, who was a senior partner with Sachs & Tayler of Washington, the lawyers joining Whiteford include Kenneth J. Ingram and Joseph D. Douglass, both of whom will be partners. The two associates joining Whiteford are Orysia K. Meyers and Andrew J. Terrell.


Sandra Pinckney has been named co-anchor of Eyewitness News at Noon and Healthwatch reporter at WJZ-TV. She replaced Ann Kellan who moved to Atlanta. Pinckney has been with Channel 13 for six years. Previously she co-anchored the weekend newscasts.
