Two die over weekend from accident injuries
A traffic accident claimed the life of a Landover man yesterday, and a Frederick County man died of injuries he suffered when a car hit his motorcycle 2 1/2 weeks ago.
Ciscero Plummer, 53, of Landover, died at 12:25 a.m. yesterday at Prince George's Hospital Center after the car he was driving struck the rear end of a bus, Prince George's County police said.
Mr. Plummer was heading south on Route 202 near Kenmoor Drive in the Landover area about 11:45 p.m. Saturday when he lost control of his 1973 Buick, struck the median strip and then rear-ended the Metro bus.
The motorcyclist, William Lee Anders, 53, of the 7300 block of Mountaindale Road, Walkersville, died Saturday night at the Medstar Trauma Unit of the Washington County Hospital as a result of injuries from a collision with a car July 11.
Three men murdered in separate incidents
Three men died yesterday in unrelated Baltimore homicides -- the latest of them a double shooting in the Pimlico area last night that left another victim critically wounded.
Neighbors said they heard at least six shots as Antonio Henderson, in his early 20s, was gunned down in front of his row house in the 3100 block of Woodland Avenue. He was dead at the scene. An unidentified man, critically wounded, was in surgery early today at Sinai Hospital.
Sgt. Edward Adelhardt, a homicide detective, said that both men were shot in the chest about 10 p.m. and that police were looking for two men seen running from the scene.
The other homicides both occurred before dawn:
* Edward Taylor, 37, of the 5200 block of Leith Road, was stabbed to death with a kitchen knife in the basement hallway of a building in the 2900 block of Mosher Court. Police said the stabbing occurred after an argument over drugs in which witnesses say Mr. Taylor asked for his "stuff."
* Gilbert Wayne Grady, 24, of the 100 block of South Prospect Avenue in Dundalk, was found shot to death in the driver's seat of his car in the 100 block of Palormo Avenue at 3:10 a.m. Police said he had stopped the car to talk to two men just before gunshots were heard.
Man hangs himself in jail after arrest
A 33-year-old Crownsville man hanged himself in a jail cell at an Anne Arundel County police station yesterday morning after he was arrested on a charge of stealing a 12-pack of beer from an Annapolis liquor store.
Patrick Bassett Stevens of the 500 block of Wilson Road was dead on arrival at Anne Arundel Medical Center about 1:45 a.m. Police said he hanged himself from an overhead bar with his shirt.
Police said that Mr. Stevens was under the influence of alcohol and belligerent, which prompted guards to check on him frequently. He was found hanging at 1:30 a.m., about 10 minutes after his cell had last been checked, they said.
