A Jessup man has been charged with stabbing his brother to death Thursday during an argument at their home, county police said.
JohnnyLee Mouzon, 40, of the 7400 block of Franklin Drive, was charged with first-degree murder, police said. He was being held without bond Friday at the Howard County Detention Center.
Police said Mouzon had been arguing with his brother, Joe Lewis Mouzon, 41, of the same address, when the stabbing occurred at 11:30 p.m. Joe Mouzon suffered serious internal bleeding after being stabbedonce in the upper left chest, police said.
A roommate of the Mouzons called an ambulance and Joe Mouzon was flown by state police helicopter to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center at University Hospital, Baltimore. He was pronounced dead at 12:33 a.m.
Johnny Mouzon was charged early Friday after an interview at police headquarters in Ellicott City. Police said they haven't yet determined why the two men were arguing.
The homicide is the eighth reported in Howard County sofar this year, police said.
TWO ELLICOTT CITY BUSINESSES ROBBED
County police are looking for a man wearing an earring who robbed two Ellicott City businesses this week after threatening em
ployees with a gun.
The first robbery occurred Tuesday at the Avanti's pizzashop in the 9300 block of U.S. 40. The second was on Thursday at theGreat Tape Escape music store in the 4800 block of Waterloo Road.
An employee at the Avanti's shop reported that a man wearing a hoop earring in his left ear entered the store at about 8 p.m., just before closing. The man pulled a revolver from his waistband and announceda robbery, police said.
After forcing the employees into a back room, the man took an undisclosed amount of money from the register and fled from the front door, police said.
The second robbery occurred at 9 p.m. two days later as the Great Tape Escape store was closing.
An employee said she told three customers in the store that shewas planning to close for the night. Two of the people left; the third, a man with an earring in his left ear, pulled a revolver from hiswaistband and announced a robbery, police said.
The employee handed him an undisclosed amount of money from the register. He then forced her into the bathroom and ordered her to wait there for 10 minutes, police said.
No merchandise was taken from the store.
In bothcases, the suspect is a white male with light-brown hair in a crew-cut style, police said.
