Kneseth Israel Congregation will dedicate a stained glass window in memory of Rabbi Morris D. Rosenblatt, a spiritual leader of the congregation from 1945 until his retirement nearly 40 years later, at 7 p.m. Aug. 4.

During his tenure, Rosenblatt presided over the most important moments in the lives of his congregants. It was not unusual for him to officiate at the wedding of a couple and a generation later, at their children's weddings. Thus the appropriate theme of the window is in Hebrew and means "from generation to generation."

The rabbi's family has established a lecture series in his memory. Among the speakers have been Elie Weisel, author and chronicler of the Holocaust, and Shoshana Cardin, a prominent Jewish communal leader.

The rabbi was killed in a hit-and-run accident in 1985.
