Sports View Inc., the start-up Baltimore company that sells color slides of major-league baseball players inside telescopic viewers, said recently that it had sealed a deal with four stadiums to sell its product.
Each stadium will sell viewers featuring popular players from its home team at concession stands, said Christian Kirby, one of the principals of Sports View.
Though the stadium deals mean only $10,000 in immediate revenue for Sports View, Mr. Kirby said that the contracts are a foot in the door for securing deals with the 22 other major-league baseball stadiums.
"This will definitely give us a head start for next year's baseball season," Mr. Kirby said.
Sports View's goal is to sell the $2.95 viewers in stadiums, novelty shops, candy stores and sporting-goods shops nationwide. The viewers are now available in small stores in the Baltimore area.
The company also wants to expand its products to include National Football League and National Basketball Association players.
Sports View also has begun discussions with the 45 Burger King fast-food restaurants in Maryland. That deal could be worth $100,000 and could mean a local radio and television campaign.
