THEFT: Central District -- David Young, a resident of Pennsylvania, reported his car was parked in the 1800 block of Eutaw Place during the weekend when someone broke a window of the vehicle and stole a radar detector. Police said the property was valued at $200.

BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- A resident of the 6500 block of Cleveland Ave. reported that someone broke into his home by forcing a basement window and stole several pieces of jewelry, at least two watches, clothing and a handgun. Police said the property was valued at nearly $2,900.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- Gene Spadt, 67, of the 200 block of S. Bouldin St., reported to police he was getting out of his car in the 3800 block of E. Lombard St. Saturday evening when he was accosted by two men who ordered him to place both hands on the vehicle's hood. Police said the men then robbed Spadt of his wallet containing more than $100. Police said the men escaped on foot.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- Giovanni Gizzi, 55, of the 3500 block of E. Pratt St., reported that while his car was parked near his home during the weekend someone forcibly entered the vehicle and stole a wallet. Police said the wallet contained personal cards, papers and $40. Police said two men seen running from the scene were being sought.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- Police reported that property valued at $300 was stolen from a 1984 Ford van while it was parked in the 1300 block of Eastern Ave. Gary Rein, 34, of the 3100 block of Echodale Ave., told police the property stolen from his van was a cellular car phone.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- David Pomeranz, 34, of the 6300 block of Early Red Court in Columbia, reported his 1986 Nissan was parked in the 700 block of S. Dallas St. Saturday night when someone entered the car by breaking a window. Pomeranz told police the thief made off with a purse containing a checkbook, credit cards and a set of earrings. Police said the property was valued at nearly $200.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- Michael Speight, 57, of the ,, 1200 block of Eager St., reported he was walking in the 500 block of N. Gay St. early yesterday when he was accosted by a man armed with a handgun who demanded his money while threatening him with the weapon. Police said Speight complied and the gunman fled with nearly $140.

BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- Employees of Ernie's music shop at the Old Town Mall in the 500 block of N. Gay St. reported that someone broke into their shop through a window after climbing onto the roof. Police said property of unknown value was taken.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- William Holloway, 34, of the 800 block of Shipfriend Court in Dundalk, reported his 1987 Toyota was parked in the 400 block of N. Gay St. over the weekend when someone broke into the vehicle and stole two buffer machines and other items. Police said the property was valued at $400.

SHOOTING: Southeastern District -- Lawrence Drumgoole, 27, of the 200 block of N. Montford Ave., reported that during an argument near his home early yesterday with a man known to him he was shot in the left foot. Police said the gunman escaped and Drumgoole was taken to an area hospital where he was treated and released. Police said the gunman was being sought.

BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- Employees of Servu, Inc. in the 100 block of Oldham St. reported that someone broke into their building over the weekend by breaking a side window and stole property valued at $600.

BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- Police reported that someone forced their way into the B & M grocery store in the 500 block of N. Milton Ave. and stole candy and cigarettes. Police said the property was valued at nearly $48. Police said two teen-age boys seen fleeing the store shortly before police responded to a burglar alarm were being sought in the break-in.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- Cynthia Robb, 23, of the 1200 block of Bonaparte Ave., reported she was walking in the 2000 block of Broening Highway yesterday morning when she was approached from the rear by two men in their late teens who grabbed onto her purse. Police said a struggle took place but Robb was unable to regain control of the purse. Police said the men escaped with a small amount of money and some property.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Police were seeking a man who accosted a couple as they walked near their home in the 2700 block of St. Paul St. early yesterday and robbed them of carry-out food and money. Police said Zlatko Barovic, 38, and Vesna Daleo, 38, both of the 2700 block of St. Paul St., were walking toward their home shortly before 2 a.m. when they were stopped by a man armed with a handgun. Police said the gunman forced Barovic to give up his money and ordered Daleo to give him the Chinese food she was carrying. Police said the man escaped and with $40 from Barovic and the carry-out order taken from Daleo worth $8.

THEFT: Northern District -- Frederick Sipes, of the 3500 block of Greenspring Ave., told police that two men he knows stole more than $600 from him at his home yesterday. Sipes told police the men, who were staying at his home, asked him for $30. Sipes told police that when he took out his wallet the men stole the wallet and left his home. Sipes told police the wallet contained $642.

THEFT: Northern District -- Rogers Thompson, of the 300 block of Broxton Road, reported that someone broke into his 1990 Pontiac while the vehicle was parked near his home and stole golfing equipment and other items. Police said the property was valued at nearly $360 and that entry was gained by forcing a door.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 400 block of E. Lorraine Ave., reported that someone broke into his home over the weekend by forcing a rear door and stole a TV and a VCR from the living room. Police said the property was valued at nearly $1,000.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- Keith Crumpler, 31, of the 400 block of Bonsal St., reported his car was parked near his home over the weekend when someone broke into the vehicle and stole two power saws. Police said the equipment was valued at (( more than $700.

THEFT/ARREST: Southeastern District -- Police responding to a shoplifting at the Stop & Shop in the 2500 block of E. Monument St. arrested a man who attempted to leave the premises without paying for several packages of meat products. Police said the man, who was held by a store security officer for the arrival of uniformed district police, was being held at the district station lockup pending formal charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- Allen Holley, of Joppa, reported his Ford pick-up truck was parked in the 1900 block of Orleans St. yesterday when someone forced their way into the vehicle and stole several power tools, hand tools and a jack. Police said the value of the property was not known. Entry was gained by breaking one of the vehicle's vent windows.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Kathy Diffenbaugh, of the 600 block of N. Carey St., reported she was in the 800 block of N. Arlington Ave. when a man she knows robbed her of a carrying bag containing cassette tapes and other items. Later, police arrested Anthony Carter, 26, of the 900 block of Bonaparte Ave., and charged him with robbery. Police said Carter was held overnight at the station's lockup on $15,000 bail pending a bail review hearing today before a District Court commissioner.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Nathaniel Turner, of the 700 block of Chestnut Ave., reported he was in the restroom of a bar in the 900 block of Mount St. Saturday night when a man entered, struck him over the head with a bottle and robbed him of his watch. Police said when the man ran out of the restroom, Turner followed and yelled to other patrons that he had just been robbed. Police said the man dropped Turner's watch and escaped.

RAPE: Western District -- Police today were seeking a man in connection with the rape and sodomy of a woman inside a house in the 1300 block of W. North Ave. The woman, whose name was withheld, told police she went to the house with the man early Saturday and she was raped and sodomized by him. Police said the man left the house after attacking the woman, who was taken to the Francis Scott Key Medical Center for treatment before being released.

Baltimore County

PIPE BOMBING: Essex District -- Police said someone detonated a pipe bomb around midnight that damaged the front door of a Riverside Village Apartments building in the first block of Byway South and a car that was parked nearby. No injuries were reported. Police said members of the bomb squad were investigating the incident and attempting to locate anyone who may have information about the unexplained bombing. Police said the explosion sent pieces of metal flying through the air for several yards that damaged the car.

SHOOTING: Garrison District -- Police reported a 14-year-old boy from Staten Island was shot in the leg yesterday afternoon during an attempted robbery in the first block of Enchanted Hills Road in the Owings Mills section. Police said Damon Franklin was visiting relatives and was sitting under a tree around noon yesterday when he was approached by two older males who demanded his money. Police said when Franklin told the men he had no money, one man pulled out a handgun and shot him. Police said a man walking past Franklin a few minutes later noticed him bleeding from the leg and called police, who in turn summoned an ambulance. Police said Franklin was taken to Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition today. Police said no arrests had been made in the case.

Anne Arundel County

SHOOTING: Severn -- Police reported John Douglas, 34, of the 1700 block of Severn Road, was shot in the leg when a shotgun a friend was handling went off. Police said Clifton Dairsow, 34, of the 7500 block of Watts Road, was packing away several items at his home when he found a shotgun. Police said when Dairsow picked up the shotgun to see if it was loaded, the weapon went off and struck Douglas in the leg. An ambulance was called and took the injured Douglas to North Arundel Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition today.

ROBBERY: Hanover -- Police today were seeking a man who accosted a woman as she was walking to the Hanover Post Office from her home on New Ridge Road and stole her purse. The woman told police the man approached her from the rear. Police said the purse contained a small sum of money and the man escaped in a black car that was seen speeding away on Ridge Road. Police said the woman's name was not available.

BURGLARY: Glen Burnie -- A resident of the first block of Glen Ridge Road reported that someone broke into his home by forcing a door and stole several appliances and other household PTC items. Police said the property was valued at $3,000.

BURGLARY: Millersville -- Police said property valued at $1,000 was stolen from a dwelling in the first block of Bodon Court after someone gained entry by forcing a door. Police said the burglar made off with video games and compact discs.

BURGLARY: Severn District -- Police reported that someone forcibly entered a house in the 1300 block of Light Pines Court and stole several pieces of jewelry. Police said the property was valued at $800.
