Mary Ruth Warner, 95, died Tuesday at Marion General Hospital, near her Indiana home. She had retired from the Alexandria school system after 34 years as a teacher. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are sons WeldonB. Metcalf and Warren Metcalf, both of Indiana and Clair E. Metcalf of Westminster; daughter, Eva Ruth Preston of Indiana; brother, JesseSwaim of here; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
John B. Wise, 68, died July 13 at his home. He was the husband of Jeannette Weston Wise. Additional survivors include daughters Christine Eyler of Towson, Baltimore County, Barbara Shriver of Dayton, Howard County, and Carol Clarius of Westminster; brothers William and Barney Wise, both of Florida, and Roger Wise of Virginia, and eight grandchildren. Barbara A. Gilbert, 48, died Monday at the home of Ricky and Belinda Collins in Taneytown. She was the daughter of Catharine Myers Gilbert of here and thelate N. Roger Gilbert. Loretta Mae Harden Merryman, 69, died Monday at Carroll County General Hospital. She was the wife of Charles Merryman. She had retired from the Howard County School Board. In addition to her husband, survivors include daughters Lori Mae Porter, Shirley Mellor, Claudia Bledsoe, Linda Ledford, Patricia Combs and Jeannie McClanahan; sons Lewis E. Harden and Charles W. Merryman; sisters Elsie Howard and Joanne Reid; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mildred Elzina Lister, 79, died July 13 at the Cherrywood Manor Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Joseph Lister. A retired practical nurse, she was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. Survivors include sons James H. of Hampstead and Joseph B. of New Jersey; daughters Lois Brunner of here and Jean Horner of Arizona; brothers Harold, Raymond and William Miller, all of Florida; sisters Lottie Basehore of Florida and Minnie Lex of Pennsylvania; 11grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Joseph Natoli, 79, died Saturday at Collingswood Nursing Home in Montgomery County. He was the husband of Catherine L.Natoli. He had retired as a custodial worker.
