Larry Yap recently joined Harbor Hospital Center's medical staff as full-time neonatologist/director of nurseries.

A graduate of the University of Philippines, Yap served as an intern and resident at theUniversity of Maryland Hospital. He was a staff pediatrician at HHC in 1985 and 1986 before deciding to go into neonatology, a pediatric sub-specialty for the care of newborns.

Yap continued his medical training as senior pediatric resident at the Hospital for Sick Children in Canada. Then, for three years, heworked as a neonatal fellow at branches of the University of Toronto's Perinatal Complex. He completed his neonatal training as senior neonatal fellow at the Hospital for Sick Children.

A fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics, Yap is the co-author of several research papers.
