It will be a busy weekend for the Carroll teams of the Central Maryland Swim League, highlighted by Sunday's Carroll County Invitational.

Four teams will be in action Saturday competing in regular seasonmeets.

South Carroll (1-2) will travel to Waugh Chapel, Anne Arundel County; Westminster Riding Club (2-1) will take on Woodbridge Valley; Westminster Pools (2-1) will visit Chartridge, Anne Arundel County; andTaneytown (0-3) will play host to Watermont. All meets will kick offat 9 a.m.

Both Westminster teams got back on track Saturday, withthe Riding Club edging Dulaney Swim Club, Baltimore County, 248.5-226.5, while Westminster Pools handled the Country Club of Glen Burnie,Anne Arundel County, 270-170. Taneytown fell to Southdown, 303-132, Saturday in Howard County.

The South Carroll Swim Club, 298-181 victims of West Howard Swim Club on Saturday, will play host to the Carroll County Invitationals at 9 a.m. Sunday.

The "just for fun meet" will have both Westminster teams, South Carroll, the Freedom Swim Club and the Carroll swimmers from West Howard competing for ribbons. The meet will not be reflected in the Central Maryland Swimming League standings.

In other sports this weekend:

* The Carroll CountyTennis Association will wrap up its 20-team field Mixed Doubles Tournament with the "B" division finals starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, followed by the "A" division finals at the Westminster City Playground.

The CCTA 35-Over Singles Tournament, set for 9 a.m. Saturday at the playground, will feature a men's and women's division and conclude with finals slated for next Thursday.

* Only two teams remain undefeated in the Carroll County Lacrosse Association Summer League.

International Foreign Car (3-0) took sole possession of first place in the Carroll division with a 9-6 win over Dr. Deigert's Drill Team (2-1) Sunday. With the scored tied, 5-5, after three quarters, International rattled off four straight goals in the final quarter to remain unbeaten.

The team will try to keep that perfect mark intact tonight when it plays A. P. Boone (0-3) at 6:30 at the Carroll County Sports Complex north of Westminster.

The only other action slated for tonight is another Carroll division matchup, with Farmers & Merchants Bank (1-2) squaring off against Dr. Deigert's.

In the travel division, Lil' Abner's (2-0), 12-5 winners over Triangle Sign Sunday, takes on Leeland Mechanical (1-2) at 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Sports Complex.

In other action Sunday at the complex, Farmers & Merchants takes on International Foreign Car, and Mar-Ja (2-1) faces Triangle Sign (1-2). Both games set for 4 p.m. Those games will be followed by Dr. Deigert's against A. P. Boone at 6 p.m. At Sandymount Park, MountWashington Tavern (1-2) battles Monaghan's Pub at 4 p.m.

* In South Penn Baseball League action, the Taneytown Cardinals (18-5) dropped out of first place last weekend after Cashtown, Pa., (19-5) defeated Thurmont of Frederick County.

The Cards play host to Hanover, Pa., (6-20) at 7 p.m. tomorrow, before taking on Mummasburg, Pa., (9-14) in a doubleheader slated for 6 p.m. Saturday. All games are at Taneytown Memorial Park.

The fourth-place Westminster Elks (10-13), winners of five of the last six games, also will be home during the week.

Tomorrow, the Elks take on New Oxford, Pa., starting at 6 p.m.,and then play a crucial twin bill against Cashtown at 1 p.m. Sunday.All home games are at Westminster High.
