Schullstrom's no-hitter defeats Indians, 2-0

FREDERICK -- Erik Schullstrom, Baltimore's second pick in the June 1990 draft, threw the first no-hitter in Frederick Keys history last night, leading the Keys to a 2-0 victory over the Kinston Indians in a Class A Carolina League game.

Schullstrom (2-2) struck out six and allowed just three base-runners, on two walks and an error by second baseman Brad Tyler. Schullstrom threw 106 pitches and worked hardest in the ninth, when he threw 22 pitches.

It was Frederick's fastest nine-inning game of the year, played in 1 hour, 49 seconds.
