TEEN GOES TO PAGEANT

Jennifer Minchik, 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Minchik, has been selected to compete in the 1991 Maryland Miss Teen Pageant.

Thecontest will be July 13-14 at the Holiday Inn, Bethesda, Montgomery County, where she and other 13- to 18-year-olds will be honored and recognized for their achievements in school, the community and personally.

Contestants will be judged on scholastic achievement, volunteer service, speech or talent, a personal interview and a formal presentation. Awards will be presented in each category.

The 1991 Maryland Miss Teen will receive a four-year tuition scholarship to one of three campuses of the University of Maryland system, a self-improvement/modeling scholarship to Barbizon School of Modeling, a Dale Carnegie course, $500 in cash, select merchandise and gifts, and an all-expensepaid trip to represent the state at the national finals in Kansas City, Mo.

Jennifer, a junior at Westminster High School, is a memberof the national Honor Society. She has played on the Girls Junior Varsity basketball, softball and tennis teams. She recently was electedsecretary of the Student Senate for 1991-1992.

She enjoys dancingand playing the piano and is a member of St. John's Catholic Church.Her sponsors in the pageant are Healthcare Recruiters of the Mid-Atlantic, Barnes-Bollinger Insurance and Hoffman & Comfort, all of Westminster.
