Here's what to look for while traveling...

Here's what to look for while traveling in the Baltimore metropolitan area this week. This list of highway projects includes only newly announced work, not continuing construction, which is extensive on several highways, including Interstate 95, U.S. 50/301 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.

New highway projects

The Bloomingdale Road bridge is closed for two weeks for paving. Use Poplar Grove Street.

The northbound Jones Falls Expressway at Cold Spring Lane is reduced to one lane until 6 a.m. Monday. For about two weeks, beginning tomorrow, the expressway will be reduced to one lane as follows: weeknights 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and weekends 8 p.m. Fridays to 6 a.m. Monday.

Light-rail construction

Madison Street is closed at Broadway until 6 a.m. tomorrow. Local traffic should use Madison Street. Southbound Broadway will not be accessible from Madison Street. Detour: west on Madison, north on Washington Street, west on Eager Street, south on Caroline and west on Madison.

Bus route changes:

Sunday service

On Thursday, July 4, buses will follow the Sunday schedule. The Baltimore Metro will be open between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. for the fireworks at the Inner Harbor.

Route changes

No. 11 (Dunkirk Service) -- Effective today between 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Springlake Way (near the lakes) will be closed because of a festival. Northbound via regular route to Charles Street and Homeland Avenue, north on Charles, east on Northern Parkway, north on Springlake Way, then via regular route.

No. 31 -- Thursday, noon to 2 p.m., Carville Avenue from Tom Day Boulevard to Sulphur Spring Road, and East Drive from Sulphur Spring Road to Linden Avenue, will be closed because of a Fourth of July parade in Arbutus. Southbound via regular route on Leeds Avenue to Linden Avenue, northwest on Linden, southwest on Shelbourne Avenue, east on Sulphur Spring, south on Oakland Avenue, east on Elm Road (layover). Northbound, east on Elm, north on Ashbourne Road, north on Oakland Avenue, west on Sulphur Spring, northeast on Shelbourne, southeast on Linden, northeast on Leeds. Maiden Choice service, southbound via regular route southeast on Linden, southwest on Shelbourne, then via southbound route. Northbound to Shelbourne and Linden, northwest on Linden to regular route.

No. 15 -- Effective Saturday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Gay Street from Chase Street to Biddle Street will be closed because of the Cathedral Christian Academy Festival. All trips to Gay and North Avenue, Belair Road and Erdman Avenue, Belair Road and Frankford Avenue, and the Gardenville and Overlea loops will be rerouted. Eastbound via regular route, northbound on Broadway to Gay, north on Broadway, east on Biddle, north on Gay, then via regular route.

No. 23 -- Next Sunday, Old Eastern Avenue and Eastern Boulevard between Stemmers Run Road and Mace Avenue will be closed because of the Essex Recreation Council Independence Day Parade. Westbound via regular route on Old Eastern to Stemmers Run, north on Stemmers Run, west on Marlyn Avenue, west on Myrth Avenue, south on Mace Avenue, west on Eastern, then via regular route. Eastbound via regular route on Eastern to Mace, north on Mace, east on Myrth, north on Marlyn, south on Stemmers Run, east on Old Eastern, then via regular route.

Nos. 4, 20 (Dundalk service)

Reroutings for July 4 parade, Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

No. 4 -- Southbound via regular route to Dundalk Avenue and South Center Place, south on Dundalk, north on Sollers Point Road, east on Merritt Boulevard, south on Peninsula Expressway, then via regular route. Northbound via regular route to Peninsula Expressway and Merritt Boulevard, west on Merritt, south on Sollers Point, north on Dundalk to South Center, then via regular route.

No. 20 -- Southbound via regular route to Dundalk and Liberty Parkway, south on Dundalk, then into the Dundalk loop at Dundalk and Center Place (layover). Northbound from the Dundalk loop via north on Dundalk to Liberty, then via regular route.

No. 2

Thursday, 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Frederick Road between Bloomsbury and Dutton avenues will be closed for Catonsville July 4 parade. Westbound via regular route to Frederick and Delray Avenue, north on Delray, west on Edmondson Avenue, south on Dutton to the Catonsville loop. Eastbound from the Catonsville loop via north on Dutton, east on Edmondson, south on Delray, east on Frederick, then via regular route.

Towson parade

Reroutings Thursday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., for Towson July 4 parade. The No. 8 (Towson service) will be short- serviced at Northern Parkway and York Road, and a temporary shuttle service will be established for passengers using the No. 8 to destinations north of Northern Parkway.

No. 8 (Towson service) -- Northbound via regular route to York and Belvedere Avenue, east on Belvedere, north on Clearspring Road, west on Northern Parkway to the layover in advance of York Road. Southbound from the layover point, west on Northern Parkway, south on York, then via regular route.

Temporary Shuttle service to Towson -- From the temporary layover point, west on Northern Parkway, north on York, east on Stevenson Lane, west on Hillen Road, north on Fairmount Avenue, west on Joppa Road, north on Dulaney Valley Road, west on Fairmount Avenue, south on Bosley Avenue, west on Towsontowne Boulevard, south on Osler Drive, east on Stevenson, south on York, east on Belvedere, north on Clearspring, west on Northern Parkway to the layover in advance of York.

No. 8 (Stella Maris service) -- northbound via regular route to York and Stevenson, east on Stevenson, west on Hillen, north on Fairmount, west on Joppa, north on Dulaney Valley, then via regular route. Southbound via regular route to Dulaney Valley and Fairmount, then west on Fairmount, south on Bosley, west on Towsontowne, south on Osler, east on Stevenson, south on York, then via regular route.

No. 9 (Hunt Valley Mall service) -- Southbound via regular route to York and Bosley Avenue, south on Bosley, west on Towsontowne, then via regular route. Northbound via regular route to Towsontowne and Bosley, north on Bosley, north on York, then via regular route.

Return to regular route

No. 240 -- The rerouting that diverted traffic from Canine Road leading to the National Security Agency has been canceled. Service will resume regular route.

Continuing diversions

Until 6 a.m. Monday, light rail construction on Howard Street at Pratt Street necessitates these temporary routes.

No. 7 -- Eastbound via regular route southbound on Greene Street to Baltimore Street, east on Baltimore, south on Hopkins Place, east on Pratt, then via regular route. Westbound via regular route on Lombard to Charles Street, north on Charles, west on Fayette Street, north on Paca Street, then via regular route.

No. 31 -- Eastbound via regular route on Pratt to Paca, north on Paca, east on Baltimore, north on Charles, then via regular route. Westbound via regular route southbound on Liberty Street to Fayette, west on Fayette, south on Eutaw Street, west on Lombard, then via regular route.

Nos. 3 (Sheppard Pratt), 8 (Stella Maris) and 55

On Thursday, Allegheny Avenue between Washington Avenue and Joppa Road will be closed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a farmers' market. Buses will follow these routes:

No. 3 (Sheppard Pratt) -- Northbound via regular route to Joppa and York roads, south on York, west on Pennsylvania Avenue, south on Washington, then via regular route. Southbound via regular route to Washington and Pennsylvania, west on Pennsylvania, north on Bosley Avenue, south on York, east on Joppa, then via regular route.

No. 8 (Stella Maris) -- Southbound via regular route to Dulaney Valley and York roads, south on York, west on Pennsylvania, south on Washington, then resume regular route. No change in northbound service.

No. 55 -- Eastbound via regular route to Washington and Pennsylvania, west on Pennsylvania, north on Bosley, south on York, east on Joppa, then via regular route. Westbound via regular route to Joppa and York, south on York, west on Pennsylvania, south on Washington, then via regular route.
