Gambrils man, 18, charged in slaying

THE BALTIMORE EVENING SUN

Anne Arundel County police have arrested an 18-year-old Gambrills man and charged him with the shooting death of Marcus William Maddox, 19, of the 100 block of Rodgers Road in Churchton. Maddox's body was found Wednesday inside a closet at his home.

Police said McArthur Raymond, of the 1200 block of Waugh Chapel Road, was charged yesterday with first-degree murder and using a handgun in the commission of a felo

ny.

Raymond, a friend of the victim, is being held in the county's Detention Center without bail pending a bail review hearing today before a District Court judge.

At first, police thought Maddox died from stab wounds, but that an autopsy by the state medical examiner's office yesterday ruled that death was caused by at least one gunshot wound.
