Ronnie Grinestaff of Manchester started at the back of the pack but worked his way through a 15-car field to win the 12-lap semi-late model feature race Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway in Hanover, Pa.

Among those Grinestaff passed on the way to his fourth semi-late victory of the year at Lincoln was was Randy Zechman of Westminster, whoplaced fourth.

In the 25-lap sprint feature, former Woodbine resident Cris Eash was seventh.

The weekend results left three Carroll drivers crowded among the top four in the Lincoln semi-late point standings. Grinestaff leads the way, followed in second by Zechman. Rick Jones of Westminster is fourth.

Eash leads the area contingent in the sprint car standings, where he is seventh. Jesse Wentz of Manchester is 17th, and Jeff Shepard of Upperco is 24th.

Ernie Jones of Westminster isninth in the late-model class and Don Zechman of Westminster is 14th. Dave Green of Taneytown, meanwhile, is ninth in the thundercar standings.

In other weekend motorsports news:

* Mike Stull of Westminster was a heat winner and placed third in the micro-sprint featurerace Friday night at Trail-Way Speedway in Hanover, Pa. Brad McClelland of Westminster was fourth.

In the eight-cylinder stock car feature, Garry Herman of Hampstead was fourth, Gregg Richardson of Sykesville was fifth, Mark Shorb of Westminster placed sixth and Corky Stull of Westminster took eighth. Richardson also was a heat winner.

Erol Meadowcroft of Hampstead placed third in the four-cylinder stockrace.

* Several county go-cart drivers finished at or near the top in their classes last weekend.

Chris Wainwright of Finksburg wonthe two-cycle juniors race at Hunterstown (Pa.) Speedway Sunday, while Eric Ohler of Taneytown placed second in the four-cycle senior modifieds. Randy Street of Westminster was third in the four-cycle box stock senior light class and Richard Schwaab of Smallwood placed fourth in the four-cycle box stock senior heavy class.

Wayne Karcher ofWestminster won the super stock light class Friday at Cumberland Valley (Pa.) Speedway.

* Eash placed 10th in the sprint car feature at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., Friday.

His showing at Williams Grove and Lincoln (he was rained out at Susquehanna Speedway in Newberrytown, Pa., Sunday) left him in fifth place in the WSBA Busch Cup Racing Series sprint car point standings.

* Gary Stuhler of Westminster took top honors in one of the qualifying heats Saturday at Winchester (Va.) Speedway, but failed to place in the top 10 in the feature race.

Charlie Schaffer of Hampstead was in secondon the seventh lap of the rain-shortened 19-lap feature at Winchester, but later faded out of the top 10.
