Get your checkbook and pen ready for some serious shopping this weekend as the Carroll County Farmers Market continues its 20th season 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Agricultural Center, Smith Avenue, Westminster.

You can see fabric painting by Jacque Moose and learn different recipes and methods of making cupcakes with Susan Koch.

A variety of fresh fruits and vegetables will be for sale, along with baked goods, eggs, meats, plants and handmade crafts. Breakfast and lunch will be available.

Nearly300 vendors will brave the sun at the annual Reese Flea Market and Craft Festival 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday on the Reese Carnival Grounds, Route 140, Westminster.

Get yourself a pit beef sandwich, and wander around the antiques, flea market items, arts and crafts and yardsale tables for the best buys. Or take a break from the shopping to watch the Gingham Square Dancers perform at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

There'll be plenty of food and beverages throughout the day.

If you like a good show, Theatre on the Hill presents "Nunsense," a musical comedy featuring the antics of several sisters, at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Western Maryland College, Alumni Hall, Westminster.

Ticketsare $12.50 for adults, $10.50 for senior citizens and $8.50 for children. If you can't make it this weekend, never fear -- additional performances are set for July 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20.

If you're into clothes, the Carroll County 4-H presents an American Fashion Parade at 7 p.m. Saturday at Francis Scott Key High School, Bark Hill Road, Uniontown.

Members will model garments they have created and there will be entertainment and an awards presentation.

While last weekend featured the Beef Festival at Westminster's Carroll County Farm Museum, this Saturday provides anevening of music under the stars at the Arts Council's Coffee House at 7:30 p.m.

Enjoy live entertainment by local artists; $4 admission or $3 if you bring a snack to share.

If fun and games are your thing, play bingo with nature aboard the Piney Run Lake pontoon at 4 p.m. Friday for only $1 per person at 30 Martz Road, Eldersburg.

Nature lovers can learn all about the birds at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Piney Run Nature Center, 30 Martz Road, Eldersburg.

The park has Fun with our Feathered Friends for children in first and secondgrade. There's no fee, but registration is required.



Like to dance?

Parents Without Partners will have a dance to raise money and the public is invited to support the local chapter 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday at Frock's, Bond Street, Westminster.

Admission is $5 for members and $7 for non-members. Cavey

Take your choice of two carnivals running through Saturday in Harney and Sykesville.
