Barry D. Scott, of Scott Pontiac in Bel Air, has been named president of the Bel Air New Car Dealers Association, a group of 10 Bel Air car dealers.

He succeeds Frank J. Ferrogine.

Scott, 39, of Bel Air, has been general sales manager of Scott Pontiac for eight years. He also is part owner of the 29-year-old Bel Air dealership.

He is a graduate of the General Motors University of Automotive Management.


Harford Community College will receive a software donation from DCA Softdesk Inc., of New Hampshire, valued at $14,280.

The Computer Aided Design softwareis the latest in architectural software and will equip the entire CAD lab at HCC.

management and structural engineering.


The Joppa-based Merry-Go-Round Enterprises Inc. has announced that sales for the four-week period ending June 1 increased 28 percent to $50.1 million from $39 million in the corresponding period last year. Same store sales for May 1991 increased 8 percent.

Sales for the 17-week period ending June 1 increased 30 percent to $207.3 million from $160 million in the corresponding 17-week period a year ago. Same store sales for the 17-week period increased 11 percent.

Merry-Go-Round Enterprises Inc. is a specialty apparel chain selling contemporary fashions for young men andwomen in more than 750 retail stores in 38 states.


Construction began May 1 on a 10,000 square foot office andwarehouse for Chesapeake Associated Enterprises Inc., a parts supplier to the U.S. Department of Defense.

Currently located in the Harford Industrial Center on Bynum Road, Chesapeake will move to its newlocation in the Forest Hill Business Center in mid-August.

The company is owned by Sal Rodano and Jim D'Amario.

The Commercial Division of Gast Construction Company Inc. is handling all construction and site work for the project.


Stanley A. Mengel & Associates, an accounting and tax preparation firm, opened its office in Bel Air May 13.

Mengel and his associates have combined experience of more than 40 years in providing accounting and tax services for the business community and individuals. They are experienced in individual, partnership, non-profit and corporation taxes.

The company will maintain clients on a computerized accounting system,offering payroll processing services and management consulting. It will also handle all tax matters and provide financial expertise to assist the business community to better run their business.
