STILLWATER, Okla. -- Tristan Paul went 3-for-4 with three RBI to lead California to a 7-4 win over Team Maryland yesterday at the Sun Belt Classic in Stillwater, Okla.
Today at 4 p.m., Maryland will play Ohio, whom it beat, 18-12, on Thursday.
Team Maryland led 2-0 at the end of the first inning when Craig Everett (Northeast) scored on an error and Kenny Konopacki drove in Kenny Batten with a single.
California narrowed the lead to 2-1 in the second inning on Mike Seal's home run, then took a 5-2 lead with a four-run third, highlighted by Paul's two-run single.
After Batten's RBI double in the bottom of the third, Maryland's Ryan Beard (St. Maria Goretti) scored on a wild pitch to bring Maryland within 6-4 in the fourth.
