5 RETURN FROM MIDEAST

Five from the Howard County area have recently returned from deployment to Middle East in support of Operation Desert Storm:

* Marine 1st Lt. Jonathan J. Yi, son of Won and Mi Yi of Ellicott City, a 1983graduate of Oakland Mills High School;

* Navy Dentalman Apprentice Edward J. Davis, son of Judith Davis of Elkridge;

* Navy Airman Apprentice Rodger J. Gingco, son of Rodelio and Geraldine G. Gingco of Ellicott City;

* Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Carlton D. Nave, son of Jenna Nicolette of Sykesville, a 1987 graduate of Liberty High School;

* Navy Airman Recruit Aaron S. Bennett, son of Steven and Dorthea Bennett of Mount Airy, a 1988 graduate of Linganore High School in Frederick.

SLOAN NOW IN GERMANY

Army Sgt. 1st Class Richard E. Sloan, son of Mollie Smith of Sykesville, has arrived for duty at Gerszewski Barracks, Germany.

He is a track vehicle mechanic.

WELLHONER GRADUATES

Airman Stephen P. Wellhoner, son of Patricia J. Burnett of Mount Airy, has graduated frombasic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.

Wellhoner is a 1990 graduate of Linganore High School.

GOODLAVAGE GRADUATES

Army National Guard Private Sean P. Goodlavage, son of Carole

D. Murphyof Marriottsville, has graduated from aeroscout observer course at Fort Rucker, Daleville, Ala.

Goodlavage was taught aviation medicine and life support, navigation, map reading, aircraft systems and communications.

He is a 1990 graduate of Liberty High School.
