David Baker, a graduating senior from Centennial High School, has been awarded a $1,000 first-place scholarship by the Maryland Art League in its annual competition.

He plans to continue his study of artat Virginia Polytechnic in Blacksburg.

KIM WINS SCHOLARSHIP

Mary Kim, a student at Centennial High School, is one of four Maryland students awarded Goucher College Trustee scholarships, which offers full tuition, room and board.

Kim is treasurer of the National Honor Society, a varsity cheerleader, a chorus and orchestra member, and a Sunday school teacher.
