THE BALTIMORE SUN

Beginning Monday, July 1, Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks will instate a policy raising the senior citizen age minimum from 55 to 62 at county parks and recreation facilities. Some fee increases will apply also.

Facilities affected include specialized facilities such as Downs Park, Quiet Waters Park, Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary, Londontowns Publik House & Gardens, the Arundel Olympic Swim Center andEisenhower Golf Course. These facilities charge user fees and offer discounts to senior citizens.

The age policy changes and fee increases were made in response tothe current economic climate and in order to join state and federal park systems in standardizing an age minimum.
