Dr. Maurice Rubenstein, was Eastpoint dentist


Dr. Maurice Rubenstein, 62, who practiced general dentistry in the Eastpoint area for many years, died of cancer Monday at the Mercy Medical Center.

A funeral was to be today at the Levinson funeral establishment, 6010 Reisterstown Road.

Dr. Rubenstein, who lived on Beech View Court in Towson, retired in 1988 after practicing in Baltimore and eastern Baltimore County.

Born in Baltimore, he was a member of the Class of 1947 at City College. He served with the Army in Japan after World War II as a staff sergeant.

Dr. Rubenstein attended the University of Maryland dental school, graduating in 1954.

After graduation, he studied at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Johns Hopkins Hospital and L.D. Pankey Institute, a postgraduate school in Miami.

Survivors include his wife, the former Phyllis Taylor; a son, Lee Aaron Rubenstein of Boston; a daughter, Nancy Ann Friedman of Owings Mills; two brothers, Samuel Friedman of Coconut Creek, Fla., and Leon Friedman of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or University of Maryland Foundation Dental School Fund.
