A memorial service for William A. V. Albright, retired head of exporting and beer distribution businesses in Maryland, will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Potomac Presbyterian Church in Montgomery County.

Mr. Albright, 62, died May 25 at his home in Potomac.

He had been president of Albright Wholesale Co., a beer distributor, until about two years ago. He retired about a year ago as president of Albright International Inc., the exporting business.

He moved to Maryland in 1974 from Charlotte, N.C., where he worked in real estate and other businesses. For a time he owned Hyde Field, which he renamed the Washington Executive Airport, in Clinton.

The native of Winston Salem, N.C., grew up there and in Charlotte. He completed a two-year business program at the University of North Carolina.

One of Mr. Albright's enthusiasms was karate, and he earned a black belt. He was a member of Masonic groups in Washington and Charlotte.

He is survived by his wife, the former Carolyn Gallant; a son, William A. V. Albright Jr. of Ellicott City; two daughters, Carolyn Palmer of Springfield, Va., and Audra Niskanen of Gaithersburg; his father, Harold Albright of Charlotte; a brother, Harold Albright Jr., also of Charlotte; and four grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Albright were held May 28 at the Myers Park Presbyterian Church in Charlotte.
