Acclaimed 'Life and Nothing But' begins Charles Theatre run


"Life and Nothing But . . .," the hit of the Baltimore Film Festival, has moved into the Charles for a three-day commercial run.

Directed by the prize-winning Bertrand Tavernier, who also did such memorable films as "Coup de Torchon," "Round Midnight" and "Sunday in the Country," it stars Phillipe Noiret as a graves registration officer in the melancholy aftermath of the great slaughter of thefirst World War, who attempts to find and identify thousands of the missing. Meanwhile, an establishment that has already forgotten the sacrifice of the millions wants to press forward.

The movie, which also stars Sabine Azema and Pascale Vignal, has won more than 13 awards.
