From The Sun June 2-8, 1841

June 3: Mr. Peregory, No. 20 Harrison Street, yesterday favored us with a bountiful supply of ice cream. Mr. P. has opened an establishment at the above number for the accomodation of his friends and the public.

June 7: Eight boys were yesterday brought to the police office and charged with bathing in the basin. Each was fined $1 and costs. Let the boys look out, as the officers are determined to notice this violation of the law on every day as well as Sunday.

June 2: Since the opening of the Chattolanee Hotel in Green Spring Valley the number of arrivals has been large. The hotel this season is under the management of Mr. C. Warner Stork.

June 3: That the Anne Arundel County strawberry is appreciated other places than the vicinity of its growth is shown by the large shipments of this fruit to points throughout the North and West.

June 5: An extremely valuable original portrait of George Washington, by Gilbert Stuart, famous Colonial painter, has been discovered in the basement of the Walters Art Gallery, it was revealed yesterday.

June 7: A new direct air service between Britain and Baltimore is due to start next week.
