Here's what to look out for if you're traveling in the Baltimore metropolitan area this week. The list of highway projects includes only newly announced work, not continuing construction, which is extensive on several highways, including Interstate 95, U.S. 50/301 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.

New highway projects

The bridge carrying U.S. 11 over the Potomac River must be closed from tomorrow until July 3 for urgent repairs, the State Highway Administration announced. A 7.3-mile detour using Route 68 (Conococheague Street), Interstate 81 and U.S. 11 is marked by signs.

Moravia Road made one-way: Soon Moravia Road will be made one-way eastbound between Harford Road and Walther Avenue for about three months for a resurfacing project. Detour: southbound traffic proceeds south on Walther Avenue; west on Parkside Drive; north on Harford Road to Moravia Road. Northbound traffic will be detoured to northbound Harford Road.

Light-rail construction

* Dolphin Street between Howard Street and Mount Royal Avenue is one-way westbound. Traffic coming from south via Martin Luther King Boulevard destined for northbound Jones Falls Expressway continues east to Chase Street, east on Chase to Cathedral Street, then north at the 1100 block of Cathedral to Mount Royal Avenue and the expressway.
