A woman was thrown from a car driven by her brother-in-law and killed yesterday afternoon on Interstate 83 near the Baltimore Beltway, state police said.

Investigators said Theresa Rose Bechler, 33, of the 3700 block of Millwheel Court in Baltimore, was a passenger in a car driven south on I-83 by John Anthony Bechler, 24, of Columbia.

The car left the roadway and hit a metal guardrail before flipped over, pinning the woman underneath it.

Ms. Bechler was declared dead at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center at 2:05 p.m.
