Assunta D'Adamo, a longtime resident of East Baltimore, died Sunday at the Lorien Frankford Nursing Home after a long illness. She was 87.

A Mass of Christian burial for Mrs. D'Adamo will be offered at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, Baltimore Street and Lakewood Avenue.

Born in Balcerano, Italy, the former Assunta Rotondo emigrated to the United States with her family at age 10. The Rotondos settled in East Baltimore, where Mrs. D'Adamo lived until moving to the nursing home last year.

Mrs. D'Adamo was one of the last surviving members of the Regina Elena Society, an auxiliary of the Order of the Sons of Italy in America. She also was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church for more than 50 years.

She and her husband, Luigi D'Adamo, had been married 62 years when he died in 1980 at age 84. A son, Michael D'Adamo, died in 1977.

She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Broccolino of Baltimore; four sons, Nicholas, Joseph and Louis D'Adamo, all of Baltimore, and Philip D'Adamo of East New Market; a sister, Mary Schuler of Baltimore; four brothers, Rocco, Anthony, Michael and Carmen Rotondo, all of Baltimore; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
