A vast majority of respondents to The Evening Sun's informal telephone survey feels AIDS tests should be required of health-care workers.

Of 432 callers to SUNDIAL, 347 (78 percent) favored the testing; 85 respondents (22 percent) opposed it. The response was the same when asked whether, if a health-care professional were HIV-positive, his or her patients should be so informed. Of 425 callers, 253 (60 percent) felt employers should be held responsible if health workers working in their employ infect patients; 172 callers (40 percent) disagreed.

"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically, as would be done in a scientific public opinion poll.
