* Chicago White Sox -- Placed Ron Karkovice (catcher) on the 15-day disabled list. Purchased the contract of Don Wakamatsu (catcher) from Vancouver of the Pacific Coast League.
* Oakland Athletics -- Activated Gene Nelson (pitcher) from the 15-day disabled list. Optioned Bruce Walton (pitcher) to Tacoma of the Pacific Coast League.
