SHOOTING: Southwestern District -- Kevin Grant, 21, of the 3400 block of Alto Road, was listed in fair condition today at the University of Maryland Medical Center after he was shot last night during an argument with another man in the 3100 block of Windsor Ave. Police said Grant was arguing with a man shortly before 10 o'clock and began chasing him down the street. During the chase, the other man turned around and shot Grant in the chest, police said.
ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- Police arrested a man and were holding him in connection with a shooting at a woman outside her home in the 2300 block of Edwing Court at Hollander Ridge. Police said Lodgra Hobbs and the man were outside her apartment around 4 a.m. yesterday when the man pulled out a handgun and fired at least one shot at her. The bullet missed.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- A man was held overnight at the Eastern District lockup pending charges that he attempted to steal two jackets from the Ames department store in the 2500 block of Belair Road yesterday. Police said a store security officer stopped the man when he noticed him walking toward the front door without stopping at the checkout counter. Police said the man had two jackets valued at nearly $20 each.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Carlene Grant, of the 1900 block of E. 31st St., reported that someone entered her home yesterday and stole stereo equipment valued at $500 from her living room.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Officials of the Holly Lane Apartments in the 4900 block of Crenshaw Ave. reported that someone broke into a storage area and stole property valued at more than $3,000.
ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A 10-year-old resident of the 3400 block of Elmley Ave. was riding his bicycle in the 2000 block of Highview Ave. yesterday afternoon when four youths, one with a handgun, forced him off and robbed him of the bike, valued at $100. He was not injured.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Michael Rokos, of the 2200 block of Mayfield Ave., told police that someone entered the front porch of his home yesterday and stole property valued at $200.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Rochester Richburg, of the 5200 block of Bowleys Lane, reported that two men entered his home yesterday and stole property valued at $400. Richburg recognized at least one of the men and was advised to obtain a warrant for his arrest.
THEFT/ARRESTS: Northeastern District -- Police yesterday arrested two men and were holding them at the Eastern District lockup pending charges that they stole property valued at nearly $300 from a car parked in the 2500 block of Kirk Ave. Police said the men, both 35, were arrested a short distance from the scene. It was not immediately known if the property was recovered.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Louis Harris, of the 1100 block of Park Ave., reported that someone entered a house he owns in the 1700 block of Homestead St. and stole property valued at nearly $400.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Terri Howard, of the 2000 block of Swansea Road, reported that property valued at nearly $4,000 was missing from her home after a party over the weekend. She said 30 to 40 people attended the affair.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Police reported that someone entered the property of Chris Horsley, of the 4500 block of Arabia Ave., and stole a bike valued at more than $150.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 5300 block of Grindon Ave. reported that someone broke into his garage and stole property valued at more than $1,000.
ASSAULT: Northern District -- James Coley, of the 300 block of E. University Parkway, reported that his sister stabbed him in the left arm with a butcher knife at her home in the 3100 block of Loch Raven Blvd. early yesterday. Police said Coley was not seriously injured. The woman was arrested and held on charges of aggravated assault and possession of a deadly weapon and was to appear today at a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.
KIDNAP/ROBBERY: Northern District -- Thomas Butler, of the 2600 block of N. Calvert St., reported he was in the 2900 block of St. Paul St. around 3 a.m. yesterday when two men, one with a knife, accosted him and forced him into the back seat of his car. Butler said one man drove his car and the other sat in the back with him and threatened him with the knife. Butler said he was driven to an outdoor automated bank teller machine, where they forced him to withdraw more than $100 from his account. After the men took his money, they ran off.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Employees of Dab Inc. in the 4600 block of York Road reported that someone broke into the building over the weekend and stole computer equipment valued at nearly $730.
THEFT: Northern District -- Employees of the McDonald's restaurant in the 2800 block of Greenmount Ave. told police that on Saturday or Sunday someone stole $500 worth of begonias that were decorating the outside of the restaurant.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke into Lekay Leasing Co. in the 1500 block of Clipper Road through the front door and stole property valued at nearly $4,800.
THEFT: Northern District -- Donna Howard, of the 5600 block of St. Albans Way, reported that someone entered the front porch of her home Saturday evening and stole a planter valued at $200.
THEFT: Northern District -- Mary Taylor, of the 700 block of W. 40th St., told police that someone entered her home during the last part of April and stole several pieces of jewelry valued at nearly $1,000.
THEFT: Northern District -- Officials of the Baltimore Department of Transportation reported that someone stole a parking meter, valued at more than $125, from its post in the 4200 block of York Road.
THEFT: Northern District -- Elnora Barnes, of the 500 block of E. 26th St., reported that someone stole her bank machine card between April 29 and May 18 and withdrew more than $1,000 from her account.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 300 block of Oakdale Road reported that someone broke into her garage yesterday and stole three bikes valued at more than $500.
THEFT: Northern District -- Vondeleer Foote, of the 2700 block of Mathews St., reported that someone entered her home over the past two weeks and stole a $200 revolver that she kept in a secured place.
THEFTS: Northern District -- Two lockers at the Johns Hopkins University in the 3400 block of N. Charles St. were broken into yesterday. Jon Shuman, of the 5800 block of Western Run Road, reported he lost cash and clothing, all valued at $565. Sangram Sisodia, of the 400 block of Old Trail, Rodgers Forge, reported that cash, clothing and a wristwatch, all valued at more than $230, were stolen from his locker.
ASSAULT: Western District -- Graylin Thomas, of the 1700 block of Lauretta Ave., reported that a man cut him on the left hand with a knife early yesterday near his home. Thomas was not seriously injured. Police arrested a suspect and were holding him pending formal charges.
THEFT: Western District -- Samuel Forsch, of the 1700 block of Thomas Ave., reported he was in the 1500 block of N. Monroe St. Sunday night when someone stole his 26-inch mountain bike valued at more than $100.
BURGLARY: Western District -- Employees of Oh's carryout in the 2700 block of Pennsylvania Ave. reported that someone broke into their store and stole a large quantity of cigarettes, value unknown.
BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 1000 block of N. Mount St. reported that someone broke into her home through the front door and stole a $350 VCR and $200.
BURGLARY/ARRESTS: Southwestern District -- Police responding to a burglary call at the Baltimore Thermal Window Corp. in the 600 block of S. Catherine St. entered the building and arrested a man and a teen-age boy. The man was being held at the station pending charges and a bail hearing, and the teen-ager was released to his parents.
ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Overton Taylor, of the 4300 block of Parkton St., reported he was near his home early yesterday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of his jewelry and cash, all valued at more than $1,300.
THEFT: Western District -- Officials of Bon Secours Hospital in the first block of N. Payson St. reported that someone stole a fax machine valued at $700.

ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- Police today were seeking two men, one with a handgun, who forced their way into Popeye's Chicken restaurant in the 8500 block of Liberty Road shortly after closing last night. They escaped a few minutes later with an undisclosed sum. Police said employees were closing up the restaurant around 10 o'clock when two men climbed in the drive-through window and ordered them to lie on the floor. Police said the men forced the manager to open the cash register and the safe. After taking the money, both men attempted to go out the front door but found it locked. The men then crawled out the drive-through window and escaped.
ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- Employees of Minnesota Fabrics at Pace Plaza in the 1700 block of Woodlawn Drive reported that a man with a handgun, wearing a black-and-orange striped jacket, entered the store around 9 p.m. and ordered them to give him money from the cash register. The gunman ordered the employees into a back room and fled with an undisclosed sum.

STABBING: Glen Burnie -- Police reported that a store security officer and an employee at Marshall's on Mountain Road were injured over the weekend when they attempted to arrest a shoplifter. Police said security officer David Ferguson was on duty Saturday night when he confronted a man who was in the store's stockroom with six pairs of sports shoes in a shopping cart. Police said Ferguson recognized the man from an earlier attempted theft. A fight broke out. Allen Patterson, a store employee, went to Ferguson's aid. Both Patterson and Ferguson were stabbed in the legs and arms with a sharp object, possibly a nail file. Police said the assailant ran out a rear door and was seen getting into a dark blue Chevrolet Impala driven by a second man.
Carroll County
BURGLARY: Finksburg -- A resident of the 2100 block of Woodview Road reported that someone entered his garage and stole a bike valued at nearly $250.
THEFT: Millers -- Police reported that someone entered the porch of a dwelling in the 4100 block of Rupp Road and stole a metal-bending machine worth more than $1,000.
THEFT: Sykesville -- Construction workers at a job site on Oklahoma Road reported that someone broke into one of their trucks and stole a concrete saw and a can of gasoline, all valued at nearly $1,100.
