Belle Grove Elementary news: The sixth-graders will be leaving today for their final field trip, to Pennsylvania. The pupils and parents worked very hard to earn money to help defray the cost of this trip. We hope they have a wonderful time.

Brooklyn Park Elementary news: Congratulations to the second- and fifth-grade teams that represented the school at the County Battle of the Books. Both teams competed with great zest and came home with a first-place trophy. The second-grade team consisted of Kerry Morris, Jody Haupt and Toni Sanford, with Jessica Stanley as alternate. Angela Brown, Megan Haupt and Michael McCormick, with Mary Storey as alternate, made up the fifth-grade team.

Brooklyn Park/Lindale Middle Junior High news: A general PTSA meeting is set for 7 p.m. tomorrow. The election of officers for the 1991-1992 school year will take place, the PTSA's 1991-1992 budget proposals will be reviewed and a summary of this year's activities and next year's plans will be shared.
Following the meeting, the annual Spring Concert will take place, including performances by the choral, band and string groups. Plan to attend this important meeting and stay to enjoy the music provided by the students.
Individuals still are needed to serve as officers for both Brooklyn Park's and Lindale's PTSA for next school year.

Park Elementary news: Pre-Kindergarten students will be taking a walking field trip to the Pet Store tomorrow in conjunction with their study of pets and their proper care.
Also tomorrow, at 9:05 a.m. (grades 3-6) and 10:05 (grades K-2), students will see a mime performance as part of their Cultural Arts program.

Harbor Hospital Center has established an information hot line for medical assistance recipients having questions about the Maryland Access to Care (MAC) Program. The MAC Program was created to provide more coordinated care for Medicaid recipients by allowing them to selecta physician, group of physicians, clinic,Hospital Outpatient Department or nursing practitioner to coordinate their care, including making referrals to medical specialists.
The enrollment period for Medicaid patients is now under way. All medical assistance recipients whohave not selected a medical provider by February 1992 will be assigned one by the state.

The Olde Brooklyn Park Improvement Association will meet at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the Brooklyn Park Elementary School on 14th Avenue. Senator Phil Jimeno will be on hand to make a presentation to a community "Unsung Hero." Be sure to attend to find out who this wonderful volunteer is.
* During the summer break, the associationplans to start its Community Watch Program. The main objective of this program is to increase citizen awareness of crimes in the area, stress the importance of securing property and encourage people to be more observant of suspicious activity. Plan to get involved!

Please be considerate of other people when walking your dog in the park. There is a leash law in Anne Arundel County and with so many children and people in the park, it is important that you keep your dog ona leash so that a friendly or unfriendly dog does not jump on or attack an unsuspecting person. Keep in mind to also clean up what your pet leaves behind so that everyone can enjoy the park.
