Morton S. Cohn, 69, former president and general manager of WLOS-TV, in Asheville, N.C., died Thursday in Asheville after a long illness. The cause of death was not given. Mr. Cohn began his broadcasting career in 1940 as a radio announcer at WAJR in Morgantown, W.Va., while a student at West Virginia University. He went to Asheville in 1959 as program-production manager of WLOS-TV. In 1962, he became vice president and general manager of WLOS-TV and the WLOS-FM and AM radio stations, and in 1969 he was elected president and general manager. From 1983 to 1984, he was vice president of Wometco Enterprises and general manager of WTVJ in Miami. He returned to Asheville and worked as a broadcasting consultant and commentator until 1989.

Edward Craven, 83, a stage and film actor, died in his sleep Tuesday at his home in Studio City, Calif. Mr. Craven appeared on Broadway and in films in the 1930s. Among the plays he appeared in were "Wonder Boy," "Wild Waves, "Little Ol' Boy," "Sailor Beware!," "Without Warning" and "Tortilla Flat." His films included "The Gilded Lily" (1935) and "The Invisible Menace" (1938).
