Stolen items found at UM frat house

THE BALTIMORE EVENING SUN

University of Maryland police have searched a fraternity house and found stolen electronic equipment, said officials on the College Park campus.

A search yesterday of Zeta Beta Tau turned up a number of items stolen from the University of Louisville last year, college spokeswoman Roz Hiebert said. Police also found drug paraphernalia and what authorities suspect is a small amount of marijuana, she said.

"This is a vigorously conducted investigation by our own campus police," said Hiebert. "We will continue until we find out whether the code of student conduct has been violated. And police are investigating any criminal charges."

Police entered the house about 7 a.m. and detained all 32 members for questioning. Hiebert said the fraternity members will be allowed to return to Zeta Beta Tau while the investigation continues.
